Announcing TPGi’s first Spirit of Accessibility Award Winner!

At TPGi, we’re proud of the talent, passion and commitment of our team in generating and sharing accessibility knowledge. This year, we established the Spirit of Accessibility Award a way for us to recognize and honor a TPGi Solutions Delivery employee who has excelled in helping advance digital accessibility for people with disabilities by supporting clients, coworkers and the wider accessibility community. The Spirit of Accessibility is embodied by a focus on people with disabilities over bare-minimum conformance with standards, on generosity in sharing accessibility knowledge, and on creativity in identifying effective solutions to problems.

For our inaugural award in 2024, we had several candidates worthy of the award. However, there was a unanimous decision on the winner — Principal Accessibility Engineer Carolina Crespo.

Carolina has consistently demonstrated an exceptional spirit of empathy and understanding in all aspects of their professional interactions. Whether working alongside coworkers, engaging with clients, or contributing to any process/product improvement initiatives, she exhibits a deep commitment to creating inclusive, supportive environments where all individuals feel valued and understood. She has been an active mentor to many engineers at TPGi, spending a considerable effort in helping improving knowledge on accessibility tools and practices.

In client relationships, Carolina acts as an educator and as a consultant, helping clients navigate the complexities of accessibility requirements and providing practical, actionable recommendations. She has led large teams responsible for auditing client websites, helping ensure rigorous testing and reporting against standards, while also gathering feedback from people with disabilities to identify additional ways clients can improve user experience.

Congratulations to Carolina, our first Spirit of Accessibility Award winner!
