CynthiaSays.com Accessibility Website Scan Announcement

original cynthia says logoCynthiaSays.com has been a staple in the accessibility community since at least 2003 and has performed countless website accessibility scans providing insight into accessibility failures, ultimately helping to build a more accessible internet.  Its most recent incarnation was the collaboration between Compliance Sheriff, ICDRI, and the Internet Society Disability and Special Needs Chapter.  However, with Compliance Sheriff (who owns/operates cynthiasays.com) announcing the end of life of their organization at the end of 2021, CynthiaSays.com must undergo another transformation.

To continue to provide the accessibility community a valuable resource for scanning websites for accessibility, Compliance Sheriff partnered with TPGi and the ARC Platform to deliver a great alternative for accessibility testing, for both individual page scans, and for recurring website scanning.

CynthiaSays.com users and individuals who need the ability to scan individual pages on-demand, there are two easy options you can take advantage of starting today.

  1. ARC Toolkit – A completely free chrome extension that allows you to scan a website page on-demand and get a comprehensive list of WCAG failures, including in-line remediation tips. Download Now   ARC Toolkit is a similar option for users that want straightforward individual page scanning that delivers specific failures.  It does go a little further in that you can select individual failures, and it will show you exactly where on the page and the source code the failure can be found as well and provide insights to resolve.  Scan individual pages as much as you want, whenever you want, completely free.
  2. ARC Platform – Start with a free web accessibility scan. Understand how many accessibility barriers you have across a sample of pages on your website. Schedule a demo of ARC   This is the best option for users that find themselves using CythiaSays.com on a regular basis to check progress or ensure digital content stays accessible.

While TPGi is providing two great options today that allow you to scan individual pages for free or to set up recurring scheduling that tracks progress over time, we are also exploring additional options that may allow the CynthiaSays.com website to persist in a similar easy-to-use single-page submission scanning option, independent of any browser or other encumbrances.

We will continue to provide updates as we get closer to the end of the year but encourage anyone currently using cynthiasays.com to go ahead and try one of the other options provided above. If you need any additional support beyond the options listed above, please submit the contact form below.
